YES! We offer all new patients (and patients returning to us over a year later) a 15-30 minute in-person consultation. We want you to feel 100% comfortable before you trust us with your health. Come see our space, meet our staff, and address any questions or concerns you may have with one of our expert clinicians!

Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and are inserted gently and shallowly by our skilled practitioners. While each person experiences acupuncture differently, most people feel a minimal amount of sensation as the needles are inserted. Most of our patients mention they experience a feeling of deep relaxation and even sleepiness while the needles are in place.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we can best assist you by phone 781-829-9355 if it is short notice. Please keep in mind that we have a 24 hour cancellation policy that may result in a $50 charge on your account.

This is our most frequently asked question!
While the majority of our patients start off on a weekly basis, treatment frequency depends on your condition’s complexity and chronicity. Your practitioner will tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs, and they will share their recommendations before you leave your consultation. There are certain acute issues that can be addressed in 2-3 treatments alone, while other issues might require 2-3 treatments per week for a few months, or until your goals are met.

Acupuncture can help with just about anything! In the rare event that it could not help, our practitioners will be transparent with you, and may even have other avenues to suggest for you to try.
Since everyone responds differently, and since ailments can have varying underlying causes, treatment plans are very individualized. Our practitioners work with you to identify the root of your issue(s), then devise or revise treatment plans to be in your best interest to solve the problem. We require that you speak with one of our licensed acupuncturists prior to receiving acupuncture, so that they can address any questions or concerns.

You do not need to bring anything with you!
However, if you have any blood work, scans, or test results that are relevant to your case, we ask that you bring it to our attention so that we can upload it to your file.
You are welcome to have a support person tag along and be your extra set of ears. (We even encourage it!)
Before consulting with the practitioner, we will ask you to fill out some health and policy forms. You will be emailed an online link from our portal to fill that out ahead of time, or we can provide a hard copy for you in person 20 minutes prior to your consultation.

We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so we do not recommend eating a huge meal before treatment, but it is good to have a light meal so that you are not treated on an empty stomach.
After a treatment, we recommend increasing hydration to more effectively clear out toxins.

You can wear anything you would like, but we do recommend loose fitted clothing to provide easier access to acupuncture points. Some people bring a change of clothes to ensure maximum comfort, especially if they come from a job that requires tight or stiff clothing.
Sheets are always available as needed.

The first time you visit New England Wellness Solutions, you will receive a comprehensive evaluation, a diagnosis and treatment plan — this includes pricing information regarding your particular case. One of our experienced practitioners will work with you to determine the best treatment plan based on your specific situation. After discussing the plan and any adherence concerns, you may have your first treatment (unless you prefer to schedule it out for another day).
An initial consultation is generally close to 30 minutes, but we recommend allotting for roughly an hour and a half in the clinic to be safe if you would like a same-day treatment.
Follow up treatments tend to take about 45 minutes.

Our therapies are safe and effective, but will only be administered if the practitioner believes you will positively benefit from the supplement. Additional services can be introduced to existing treatment programs, but we limit the number of modalities that can be done in a singular visit.
Like all therapies, it is important to visit trained and licensed professionals. If you are curious about any of our other services, you should consult with your acupuncturist to see if it would be a good fit for you!
